Since 1966, the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards has honored the finest country artists, albums, and songs of the year.
One award many newcomers will have their sights set on is New Female Artist of the Year.

Ella Langley is a Clear Favorite for the Award

The 25-year-old singer-songwriter has received eight nominations for her ACM Awards debut, making her the leading nominee at the event, which proves she’s popular with the Academy.
Langley’s debut album Hungover dropped in August 2024 to much acclaim. Also, it reached number 49 on the US Billboard 200 and 11 on the US Top Country Albums Chart. Rolling Stone later ranked it in The 30 Best Country Albums of 2024 list.
The breakout star debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 with the song “You Look Like You Love Me” featuring Riley Green in August 2024. It secured her first number one on Country Airplay, and she was the only female to do so in 2024.
Ashley Cooke is Still in the Race
Ashley Cooke is the second favorite to pick up New Female Artist of the Year at the 60th ACM Awards, with betting odds predicting she has a 12.5% chance of winning.
After all, she’s enjoyed a fantastic rise to fame since releasing her studio album Shot in the Dark, which features collaborations with some of the biggest names in country music, such as Nate Smith, Jackson Dean, and Colbie Caillat.
Her song “Your Place” reached number two on US Country Airplay and was certified gold. Plus, she recently featured on Brantley Gilbert’s song “Over When We’re Sober,” which reached number 31.
Kassi Ashton Could Surprise Country Music Fans
Kassi Ashton is a dark horse for New Female Artist of the Year, as she’s had a phenomenal rise to success.
After releasing various songs that debuted on the US Country Airplay chart, the 31-year-old singer-songwriter released her first studio album, Made from the Dirt, in September 2024, which received much acclaim for her vocals and songwriting ability.
As a result, betting odds predict she has a 10.53% chance of winning the sought-after award at the ACM Awards 2025 on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
Of course, Jessie Murph and Dash could shock experts by taking to the stage to collect the award at the iconic event, as the odds aren’t in their favor to win.
